Jessica Simpson takes a break from shooting Major Movie Star - and the summer heat - in Louisiana on Friday.

Jessica Simpson and John Mayer have split up, at least for now. According to sources for People magazine, “They have broken up … but they have broken up and gotten back together at least ten times before.”

The source adds that although their breakup, Jessica Simpson and John Mayer keep in touch while Jessica is promoting her upcoming movie Major Movie in the Cannes Film Festival. “They talk to each other at least six times a day. I don’t know if this breakup is permanent, but for right now they are broken up.”

While Jessica seems to be very happy with her recent relationships with John Mayer, it appears as they may not share the same strong feelings towards each other.

In Touch Weekly reports today, that whole Mayer spent the holidays with his family in Fairfield, Conn., he never even mentioned his new girlfriend. The tabloid reports of a conversation with Mayer’s father, Richard, who that “Jessica didn’t come up once in conversation,” But insisted that his son is “very private” about his love life.
